“I’m going to be crying for Jennifer all afternoon”: Jennifer Aniston Saying “All Five of Us” After Matthew Perry’s Death Will Break Every FRIENDS Fan’s Heart

Jennifer Aniston got emotional discussing about FRIENDS, accidentally left out Matthew Perry, and shared heartfelt memories of the show recently.

Although there have been tons of other entries in the sitcom field, perhaps none comes as close to fans’ hearts as FRIENDS does. If anything, the comical (and emotional, at the same time) pair up of Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and the late Matthew Perry together will never not be iconic in fans’ eyes, even as the show soon turns 30.

Even after all these years, the love for the sitcom remains as vivid as ever, and Aniston, in a recent interview couldn’t help but express just how tremendous of a “gift” this series has come to them. But while talking about it, the actress slipped and said “all five of us” instead of counting in Perry’s sixth character as well, and her talking about it would just break every FRIENDS fan’s heart.

Jennifer Aniston Heartbreakingly Talks About FRIENDS Turning 30

A bit of a while back, Jennifer Aniston appeared on an Actors on Actors episode for Variety to talk about her currently ongoing series The Morning Show and her soon-to-turn-thirty smash-hit sitcom that will hold an eternal indelible place in fans’ hearts, FRIENDS, among others. And talking about the latter was heartbreaking enough to bring her to tears.

During the end of the interview, she candidly addressed, with tears in her eyes, just how “strange” it feels even to acknowledge the fact that her sitcom from 1994 will soon have been out there for three decades. Aniston shared how she still lucidly remembers the day it was going to be premiered on television and “the excitement we had, it feels like yesterday.”

But what came next was a bit more heartbreaking than the rest of her statement. As she went on to confess how stunned she was at the love the show was still receiving, even after all these years, she also conceded to just how it was a gift to all of them. But while talking about her co-stars, she accidentally initially said “all five of us” instead of six.

Aniston originally said (via Variety on YouTube):

The fact that it’s had this long, wonderful life and it still means a lot to people is one of the greatest gifts I think all five of us — all six of us — we never could imagine.

Of course, this landed an even harder blow — that was inevitably most unintentional from Aniston’s side — following the beloved Chandler Bing portrayer Matthew Perry‘s death. Then the actress went on to talk about how the cast still stays in touch, and everything took an all the more heart-wrenching turn for fans.

As the Just Go with It actress continued to share:

We see each other. I talked on FaceTime with Court[ney Cox] last night for an hour, and Lisa and the boys, and we just have a really — it’s a family forever.

While there’s no doubt about them remaining a family forever, fans still can’t get over this interview and Aniston’s reaction to all those memories comes rushing back. If anything, they’re sure that, just like the Rachel Green portrayer, they, too, would be spending the rest of their days crying while reminiscing all those heartfelt memories.

Ever since Aniston couldn’t hold back her true emotions while addressing the eternally fan-favorite sitcom once again, the fans of the smash-hit show have been having the same reactions. If anything, they are as emotional about it all as they were about Perry’s tragic death. Taking to Reddit to talk about the same, here’s what they have been saying:

Well, for whatever it’s worth, Matthew Perry may be gone now and thirty years may have passed since the release of the first episode of the sitcom, but this group of six will forever continue to hold a special place in fans’ hearts. Always.
